The cop admitted it was his fault and that's on camera. Take that to a lawyer if the cops don't pay for the repair.

Here is the problem with this situation and others, if police were personally responsible for their actions, shit like this and how cops have no fear of violating people and their rights wouldn't happen nearly as often if they couldn't hide behind qualified immunity

you get the officer's name and badge number. call your father and let him know since he owns the bike. file an insurance claim and they will send the bill to the police department. file a separate complaint for excessive use of force if you want.
