i honestly think the love story between theo and eloise would have made much more sense than the one with sir philip. throughout the show eloise is portrayed as someone who questions society, traditional marriage, and the role women are expected to have. she is curious and constantly searching for deeper conversations and ideas. when she meets theo, their connection feels very natural because it is based on discussions about books, politics, and social issues rather than on typical romantic attraction. theo also challenges her perspective and introduces her to a different world outside the privileged environment she grew up in, which fits perfectly with eloise’s desire to understand society beyond the ton. their relationship also creates interesting tension because of the class difference between them, which could have explored themes like social barriers and personal freedom. because of all this, their dynamic feels much more aligned with eloise’s personality and character development in the show, the storyline with sir philip will be so bad with the version of eloise that the series has built so far, and i miss theo and eloise together
