@theecomidwife: The good thing about this podcast is it highlights it is a woman’s choice how they birth their baby, freebirth is a right and for some will be the right choice. Amoungst the stories shared are the discussion where all has gone well with good outcomes. It also highlights how the medical system often drives women and people to choosing a freebirth - distrust in the medical systems, previous birth trauma, not being heard or listened to, along with the utmost trust and confidence in their bodies. However, It is the communities which normalise the abnormal symptoms which can lead to harm, particularly when it is a huge money making business. If you’ve watched my content before, you’ll know I think there should be more unity, and the cohesion of doulas and birth keepers working together with maternity teams help improve outcomes through advocacy, communication, strengthening relationships and putting women and people at the heart of care. But demonising medical systems can be just as detrimental as heard in the podcast as demonising the doula and birth keeping space. #freebirth #fyp #maternity #midwife #studentmidwife
