People also forget that America literally uprooted a democracy in Iran, installed a royal family which was taken over by the current regime. All because they wanted the oil and resources below them. So yeah Iran has been motivation to dislike the US and have been preparing for this for decades.

History is LITTERED with examples of why campaigns like this are a bad idea. On top of the terrain being difficult to invade, the worst part is that the local troops know them well, our invading forces would be blind making combat in the area even more difficult than it otherwise would be.
