Hey babes I mean this all the love ever but applaws it’s a great brand. Don’t get me wrong, Rice-based wet cat food isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s not the best option if it makes up a big part of your cat’s diet. Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they need nutrients from meat to stay healthy, and rice doesn’t provide that. It’s often used as a filler, so foods high in rice usually have less actual meat and lower protein. Too many carbs from rice can lead to weight gain, blood sugar spikes, and may increase the risk of issues like Type 2 Diabetes. Some cats also don’t digest rice well and might have softer stools or mild stomach upset. That said, a small amount of rice is fine and can even help with digestion in some cases. The main thing is to make sure the food is mostly meat-based, with real animal protein as the first ingredient and lower carbs overall. So overall, rice isn’t harmful, it’s just not as biologically ideal for cats compared to high-protein, meat-focused wet food.❤️

applepaws doesn’t meet aafco certifications of being complete and balanced. i’d recommend a different wet food as this shouldn’t be fed daily
