My organ transplant surgery, and only the surgery itself, cost nearly 400k in the US. In Spain, that would have covered my surgery, hospital stay, labs, post-operative care and put me up for a year in a comfy hotel on the beach to recover for year, including meals and entertainment.

My Bill for my Rabies shots before insurance at the ER in A California hospital was 47k, not kidding. I ended up paying 4k with insurance because I hadn’t met any of my deductible. Crazy!
