Please like, comment, and SHARE! 🙏 🔍 Episode Overview: At around 1:37 AM on August 6, 2023, Officer Patrick Reeves from the Delran Township Police noticed a black 2014 Nissan weaving across lanes on Route 130 North. He pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Alexis. While talking, the officer saw open containers inside the car. Alexis told him she was on her way home after leaving Vera, a nightclub in Cherry Hill. She admitted she had been drinking earlier that night. Sensing she might be impaired, Officer Reeves asked her to step out and perform field sobriety tests. The first test was the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, where her eyes' movement was checked. Next was the Walk and Turn test. During this, Alexis struggled to touch her heel to toe and made errors in her steps. The final test was the One Leg Stand. She couldn’t keep her foot raised properly during this exercise. Due to her shaky driving, her confession of drinking, the open containers in her car, and her poor performance on the tests, Officer Reeves arrested Alexis for driving under the influence. Her vehicle was taken and kept for 12 hours under John’s Law. She was taken to the police station for more processing. At the station, Alexis was read the standard statement for drivers and agreed to give breath samples. The tests showed her blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.13%, above the legal limit of 0.08%. After signing a form warning her about potential legal consequences, she was released to her sister. This was until her court date. Officer Reeves gave her tickets for several charges: operating under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, and driving in marked lanes. Court records show she pleaded guilty to the DUI on April 17, 2024. As a result, she spent 12 hours at a resource center, used an ignition interlock device for seven months, and paid fines totaling $690.
