DNE Gaarantee || Harry Potter angst I always found petunia as an interesting individual. I feel like her and Harry could have such a complicated relationship. I mean, she loved her sister, but there was so much resentment and grief with her as well, that it made such complex emotions.. I don’t don’t think she’s a good person. She’s complex. I saw some people state that the reason why she treated Harry the way she did was because of Vernon, while his presence could have helped perpetuate some of those feelings, I still don’t believe she’d be good towards Harry. I headcannon that she internally puts the blame on Harry for her sisters death (even if it’s irrational). I think it would also be interesting if she unleashed her cruelty to Harry due to her regretting how things ended with Lily. She will never get to see her sister, and a huge reason for that is for the kid. I also like the idea that she saw a lot of Lily in Harry (with certain personality traits) I also like the idea that Harry actually acts more like petunia (unconsciously) as she was still his primary caretaker. I mean realistically he can’t really pick on his parent’s behavior as there was nothing to pick up on (as they’re 😵 ). I also really like sadness so that’s another reason why. I’m not sure if she loved him. Maybe in her own way she did? Although I feel it would be more accurate that she felt responsible. Maybe a large reason to why she kept Harry was because well she felt guilt. And Harry was the last thing from Lily she could have.
