Honestly if I ordered a hamburger steak I'd think it was streak strips on a burger bun with all the mentioned toppings. I'm from the UK though and I've never heard of a hamburger steak before. Regardless, I wouldn't be rude to the server about it, and I always read the menu so I'd likely clarify before ordering.

Just like chicken fried steak is deep fried and it’s cube steak and it definitely not chicken or steak but I know what it is lol it’s definitely a favorite dish!
