@sacramentourbanmedia916: An aspiring college football player has tragically died after sitting in his car to charge his phone during a snowstorm. Joseph Boutros, 21, a student-athlete at Salve Regina University, was discovered inside his vehicle suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities later confirmed that snow from the blizzard had blocked the car’s exhaust pipe, allowing the deadly fumes to build up inside. Boutros had reportedly gone to his vehicle during a power outage to charge his phone, unaware of the danger caused by the heavy snowfall. Newport Police said he was rushed to hospital by emergency responders but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. He had mentioned to a fellow student what he planned to do before returning to his car. In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram, the Salve Regina football program said the team was “heartbroken” over his passing. “Joseph’s contagious smile, positive spirit, and genuine love for his brothers left a lasting impact on everyone in our program,” the statement read. “He was more than a teammate — he was family.” Teammates and friends flooded the post with tributes, remembering him for his warmth and energy. The college baseball team also honored him by wearing helmets marked with the initials “JB” during a recent game.#fyp #viral
