Some places feel like they belong in a storybook, and Schwangau, Germany with Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle is one of them. 🏰✨ Perched high in the Bavarian Alps, with mountain views stretching in every direction, it’s hard to believe a place this magical is real. Built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century, Neuschwanstein is the fairytale castle that inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Castle and seeing it in person feels just as magical as you’d imagine. 🥰💫 Just below sits Hohenschwangau Castle, where Ludwig spent much of his childhood, surrounded by forests, lakes, and some of the most beautiful scenery in Bavaria. Together, these castles create a landscape that feels actually frozen in time. ⛰️🌲 I had dreamed of visiting for years, took a spur of the moment day trip from Munich and somehow it was even more breathtaking than I expected!! The castles, the mountains, the clouds drifting through the valleys, and even the sweet little cat we spotted along the way made the experience feel actually straight out of a fairytale. 🐈🤍 It’s one of those places that leaves you standing in complete awe, wondering how somewhere can be so beautiful and it’s just so perfectly situated too. The views here are something else.
