You don’t need a QLD license to buy a car there, you can get a customer reference number with your uk license and buy a car

Also worth noting you have to pay stamp duty on used car purchases. I bought a car for approx 16k and was absolutely shocked when I went to register the car and got charged almost $900!

Budget is the worse insurance company you could go with. There is a reason it’s so cheap. Wouldn’t recomend budget at all.

cheaper to buy a used vehicle in SA , talking about same condition vehicles only as other states do have cheaper but in worse condition.

You don’t actually need insurance to drive here it’s optional just if you crash comes out of your own pocket instead of insurance company

If you’re on a whv and hold a full British driver’s license you do NOT need a local driver’s license, your British license is recognised in all states. STOP sharing false information. It’s all on the government website.

Old cars do not have annual MOT-like inspections… unless you check it properly you can buy a bucket of crap - contact the RACQ… they can do a 3rd party inspection.
