@maryanna_illustrates: ↓ Here are some different things to experiment with: - drawing your subject without looking at your paper (this is known as a blind drawing!) - draw with only one colour (but multiple different materials!) - set a timer for 1 minute and draw your subject, then repeat but with 5 minutes, and finally try 15 mins. Look at how they are different. Which do you like best? - try to draw your subject using only dots, or only dashes/lines - draw your subject WITHOUT lifting your pen or brush form the paper (this is known as a continuous line drawing) - pick 3 materials and find a way to use all three, overlapping them! - experiment with different ways of shading - try to use blocks xx amount of colours (ex: I'm going to draw this artichoke using blocks of only 3 shades of green) - study your image and then put it #artisttips #artstyle #sellyourart #artisticstyle #findyourstyle

I thought i loved oil pastels even though I wasnt good it at, then I started doing fabric arts like applique and love it so much! experimenting is the key!

I found you a few months ago and you have inspired me to practice my painting while making cards for birthdays for my coworkers. I have a list of birthdays and it forces me to be more intentional and paint more often (I’m a mom with a toddler who needs the push to make the time). Mustering up the courage to try different styles and not get upset if it doesn’t turn out perfect the first time, just pick up my brush and try again. Love your videos!
