yeah used to do it excel. had to Google how use vlookup during my consultation days. nowadays rarely use it. usually just investigate DLP incidents using our tools eg edr, siem, etc. now use to list out what rules we have and what's in the future we are going to have. but I do agree with your take. definitely important skill to have.

What about PowerBI connecting with different data sources, its easy and can be visualized and easier to show stakeholder especially if data sources come from microsoft environment because then you dont need to build your own connectors.
