Yes!!! Teenagers are building their futures and finding themselves. They are not adult relationships. Teen relationships should be easy and fun and help push each other to find themselves and the best versions of themselves. Not lose themselves in a teenage relationship. This is true for both male and female teens. 🥰❤️

A teenage boy IS expected to give effort. I raised boy my sons to do so. But someone draining all of his time and energy is a whole nother thing that my oldest went through. You can tell them until they’re blue in the face but they will follow their heart and learn the hard way like we all did. I just remained supportive and made sure he knew I was there for him no matter what and kept my opinions mostly to myself so as not to make him feel alienated. He figured it out eventually and came to momma once he did. Now he’s happily married to the best woman in the world for him.

Its not even that I just expected more then bare minimum. Meet my dad hang out. I dont expect someone to pay for anything much at our age. Hanging out and doing something doesn't have to require money. Its more the lack of effort people have now. So yes if he wanted to he would put the effort and show you care is all I ask.

As a girl that took all relationships too seriously. I regret it soo heavily. High school and college is meant to be enjoyed with friends. I missed out on too much for people that aren’t even a part of my life anymore.

"If he wanted to, he would" is so misunderstood. Its supposed to be about the little things, like remembering your favorite color. Being able to tell you're feeling anxious without you saying anything. Refilling your water because he noticed its empty.

💯 I tell my son and grandsons love yourself first and put yourself first until you are ready to commit on your time no one else's. They do not need to be worried about taking care of someone else until they are mature and ready.
