I saw plentyyyy of ppl crossing their legs in the train especially during a rush hour. As well as ppl eating in the train and walking while eating. It’s like these rules don’t apply to them but only foreigners….

As a girl who is mix (blasian), born, lived in Japan my whole life and speak Japanese, I still look like a foreigner from other Japanese people. I often see Japanese people do things which doesn’t bother anyone but when I do it, they try to teach me or scold me because they think I’m disrespecting them or bad manners. At the end- I spoke Japanese to them and they were surprised when I told them I was born in Japan and wasn’t a foreigner. They said “you should’ve told me you were basically Japanese” 😀❓

Unfair? I lived in a small non foreigner friendly part of Tokyo and I spoke fluent Japanese. Had lived there for years. Suddenly after covid the local businesses close and new businesses open - they saw they had a foreigner in their neighbourhood and suddenly they have no shoplifting signs all only in English. I can barely eat out in my own damn neighbourhood because they don’t foreigners
