@thinkingcanine: I can’t believe that 16 years ago, I saw a litter of Border Collie puppies in an Ohio shelter that had one day left. I drove on my first solo road trip ever 8 hrs to get her that night when I got off work at midnight. The puppies each cost $16 and I was able to afford all 3 on my $5.15 minimum wage salary. I couldn’t leave them behind. This wonderful family adopted Oreo, who had a leg that broke and healed crooked on its own. Though her sisters are gone now, Vera is going strong. This family gave Oreo an amazing life.
