@lailaspantry: EP 5: Fundamental Flavors & Techniques- The Maillard Reaction! This has honestly been such a long time coming, if you guys have been following me for a while, one of my most used phrases is the “Maillard Reaction”, and for good reason! It’s a fundamental building block of flavor in cooking, and is one of the easiest way to layer flavor into your dishes. Most of you probably already do this unintentionally, but once you understand HOW and WHY it occurs, you can harness it to make your food taste that much better. It’s a fairly complicated chemical process but luckily, I’ve detailed the whole thing in a very in-depth post on my Substack, link in bio! https://open.substack.com/pub/lailaspantry/p/fft-5-what-is-the-maillard-reaction?r=307yae&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true Come back on Thursday to find out the best way to amplify the byproduct (fond) of the Maillard Reaction! #lailaspantry #chef #fundamentalflavorsandtechniques #cookingtutorial #howtocook

get your facts straight... the maillard reaction aka the browning reaction in protein, peptides and amino acids...is independent of sugars as caramelisation is a different process....

if I "caramelize" my vegetables for 7-8mins before adding my chicken to cook will that give off a stronger richer dish?
