After years of being poked and prodded, every move you make being decided for you, being micro managed and belittled at every opportunity, existing in a constant state of fear and starvation, feeling unloved and hopeless…. One of the most rewarding parts of elephant rescue, is moments like this - watching our new arrivals gently transition from survival to revival mode. Seeing them wash away the pain from the past and embracing their newfound freedom and autonomy. This video of our newest rescues, Gaew and Naam Chok, might not look like much, but there is so much happening here. They are healing, they are recovering and they are learning what it truly means to be an elephant.
