🐾 Full Whole Food Cat Meal Prep! The highly requested recipe is finally here! This whole food plan is packed with moisture and nutrients, and the best part? It is incredibly affordable. Here is the exact price breakdown for this batch: • 5.51 lbs of Chicken: $13.72 • 1.5 lbs of Gizzards & Hearts: $2.13 • 1 Tub of Chicken Livers: $2.13 (We only use 1/4 of the tub, which equals about $0.53) • Total Cost: $16.38 for 37 meals • Cost Per Meal: Only $0.44! 🤯 🥣 What You Need: • Storage: Lots of Tupperware for storing the meals, and/or you can use zip-up plastic bags. Tupperware is definitely more convenient, but plastic bags are much more cost-efficient! • A Food Scale: This is VERY important! You need it to accurately measure out ingredients like the livers (cats only need 10% liver in their diet). 👩‍🍳 The Prep & Cooking Process: 1. The Chicken (5.51 lbs total): I split this pack up to give them some variety! • Shredded Chicken Soup: I used 2 of the chicken breasts to make a hydrating soup. • Pan-Fried Chicken: I used the other 4 breasts for pan-frying. First, I pan-fry the chicken as whole breasts until they get a little bit of crisp on the outside. Then, I take them out of the pan, slice them up into thick slices, and place them back into the pan. This helps them cook faster and gets a much better, more flavorful sear! Getting that crispy edge brings out the rich chicken meat flavor that cats go crazy for. 2. The Gizzards & Hearts (1.5 lbs): Place the 1.5 lb pack into a big pot and add about 4 to 5 cups of water. You have two options here: • Maximum Collagen: Let it cook for 4 hours to get the maximum collagen yield. • Quick Method: If you pre-chop the meat first, you cut your cooking time down to just 45 minutes! Both methods perfectly cook the gizzards and leave you with a nutrient-rich collagen soup for the side. 3. The Livers (1 Tub): (Note: We’re gonna cook the entire tub of livers, but we’re only going to use about 1/4 of it in the end. Just freeze the rest of the cooked livers so you have them ready to go for next time!) 4. Plating it up: Moisture is key for a cat's diet!
