we own a 05 Trailblazer and 05 Expedition. owned out right. both 4x4 and been well maintained. my wife always asks why we cant buy a new car. I dont like car payments and im starting to hear all these new cars are nothing but junk and issues

New cars a depreciating asset. Your average new car cost around 50,000 dollars. Which mean 600-800 dollar car notes . Depending on your credit .And fun fact . Most of your car note goes towards the interest of your car, and not the principal

I had a 2009 Toyota RAV 4, over 160K miles. I had been paying the notes for five years, and when I had ONE MONTH TO GO, the engine started just quitting on me. Why? The gasket was cracked. They quoted me over a grand, which I didn’t have. I would’ve rode her ‘til the wheels fell off.😕 I love my 2020 Subaru Outback, don’t get me wrong, but the property taxes are WAY more in the younger car.

That Tahoe came out at the wrong time anything from Chevy that came out in 2000 was not good. He already had the transmission replace.

Yep. All my families cars paid for. Newest is a 2013. Oldest 93 ford explorer. Some are broke. Most run. Some fixes cost more. Got by hella better then the time my ex insisted on buying a new car. And my kids are learning more about cars. Old cars are amazing.
