And I kept getting told by my doctor that I was beyond the age of the cut off every time they extended the cut off age. I still don’t qualify because when they raises the maximum age to 40, I was already past it.

Is there any benefit to getting the vaccine in your 30s when you don't have HPV and aren't likely to get it (married, confident in partner)? My parents didn't let me get the vaccine as a teenager bc Catholicism. My mom died of cervical cancer and I would very much like to avoid that.

My daughter had the original vax when a young teen. Is there value to her getting the newer 9-valent one as well as a young adult?

Got the original in 2006 as a college freshman, got the new series in 2023 after abnormal paps, still had a LEEP but 2 years good now.

I grew up in a high control religion, and my parents wouldn’t allow me and then once I was an adult and out in my own it didn’t actually allow for my age group and then I finally got it a couple of years ago although I don’t date anymore

I feel like the assumption that you’ll sleep around in your late teens/twenties leaves late bloomers who aren’t sexually active until their 30s exposed if they got the HPV vaccine at 15

my parents sent me to catholic school but drove FOUR HOURS to find a place who would give this in 2009, as catholic schools refused to allow it in the school vaccine program. it's a cancer vaccine!

Don't read if you're afraid of needles lol - I got it as an adult within the last few years and honestly, I'm not sure I'm mad. I was TERRIFIED of needles and didnt get vaccines for years (medical trauma) until my grandma got cancer and I decided to get them regularly again. The ones for the HPV vaccine though (mine, at least) were the larger intramuscular needles. I would probably have been completely traumatized. l

Don't forget the new study which shows there's an 85% reduction in risk of recurrence of pre-cancer if a person has an excisional procedure AND gets the vaccine.

I got the HPV vaccine when it was relatively new. I unfortunately had an allergic reaction close enough to when I got the vaccine that they recommended I stop the series 😭 I wish I could have continued it!
