A big struggle with this though is for our kiddos with autism and ADHD because my children will not sleep and then it’s a nasty cycle. No one in my house has slept in years. My youngest is seven. He’s on two medication’s clonidine and anti-hydroxyzine from his psychiatrist to try to get him to sleep and he will still only sleep 3 to 4 hours a night and it’s not uninterrupted. He wakes up in those 3 to 4 hours as well, he also does not take any naps. He has not taken a nap since he was one years old. We do not do any sugar nor do we do any dies or any high fructose corn syrup. It’s a very, very big struggle. I wish they could figure out why people with autism struggle, sleeping because sleep deprivation is really taking a mental and physical toll on my whole household.
