🌀 Mapping & lining in a negative floral sleeve in a 6h day session 🌀 Tamsin requested a negative floral sleeve focusing on peonies as the focal points with skull centres. We added some cherry blossoms into the smaller gaps to keep in with the Japanese floral theme. Since she already had a bold traditional colour piece by another artist on the elbow, we discussed either adding some dotwork shading over the coloured areas to dull it down and work it in better with the new sleeve so it’s more cohesive and blends better. Or black it out and make a white floral piece over the elbow instead - undecided yet! Both will work beautifully so it’s personal preference for my client On the next session we will may be tattooing a floral piece in the armpit and over hand to cap the top & bottom of the sleeve. If Tamsin decides against tattooing these areas we can keep it inner bicep / wrist level. Once the top and bottom of the sleeve is mapped in we can begin to black the background and make the floral pieces pop 💥 Followed by shading the floral pieces in light dotwork to create depth and a lot of contrast.
