Our hospital just implemented NO phones, tablets or even books while you are a constant observer. It’s absurd. Especially on nights while they are literally SLEEPING.

I had an asthma attack on a 1:1 at 1am on a very calm night (rare) on the psych unit and it still took them THIRTY MINUTES to relieve me to go to the ED, when I walked through the nurses station and saw ALL of them on their phones while my O2 was sub 90 i was so livid

I’m in the float pool at my hospital and the number of 1:1s I’ve sat with is astronomical. IDGAF if the floor is short I will call the charge nurse, I will call a floor manger, shit I’ll call admin before I put my bare cheeks on a pt toilet.
