this is because active wear is made fron plastic, the smell sticks to it. If you wear active wear made from natural materials this won't be an issue.

BiCarb Soda + Vinegar during the wash cycle, then add a Natural Oil of choice during the last cycle = WaLaaa 💁🏻♀️

ditch the front loader ,use a top loader and stop using fabric softener. hang them on the clothes line to dry. honestly never had this problem until I was forced to use those horrid machines...
