I thought about this when Mary was talking to Stack. Her raised voice at the train station about them being intimate made me dislike her and her callousness, knowing what it could lead to.

To add, everyone blamed Grace for letting the vampires in but Mary was the one who wanted to leave and vet Remmick & Co. bc she was passing and felt she knew them better. She had no discernment unlike the others and is the real reason for all the mess they got into.

Right, Mary was equally as dangerous as those vamps. She could've got Stack killed at the train station.

And this is why I said Stack and Mary shouldn’t be couple costume. Too many layers

Stop infantilizing Yt ppl. THEY KNOW, they don’t care. They expect a pedestal.

This is why I was fighting for my life in the comments last year Because people wanted to ignore the fact that when Mary and stack were humans she deliberately and constantly put the people that she so called loved in danger! She turned stack selfishly and I didn't like her for that. She honestly was the catalyst to why they ended up becoming vampires in the first place.

Ryan Coogler and every creative on this film is just brilliant. There are so many layers and meaning in every facet. I NEED IT TO SWEEP AT THE OSCARS

Thank you for having media literacy and being able to understand without getting offended or feeling personally attacked. I feel often times people will watch stuff and think, “I don’t personally do this, therefore it doesn’t exist”.

THANK YOU!!! “You can’t do the same things your white friends do! You don’t have the same privileges as them because of the color of your skin.” Is a conversation that is held in black households for generations but is never a conversation in a white household.

if anything, it's why I don't subscribe to the phrase "biracial with a white mom" thing but rather "biracial but raised colorblind." Because Mary knows she mixed and wants to explore that side of her, but was raised in such a White society out of safety for everyone. like I get wanting to double dip, but her colorblindness in Jim Crow Mississippi was a literal threat everywhere she walked

Black women wanting to protect themselves and their loved ones or being skeptical of their oppressors being in their circle, isn't even CLOSE to being prejudiced.

It’s especially hard for ww to see this bc we think we understand being in danger (walking alone at night) but it’s not the same

like Mary was the reason behind the loss of life. she thought she could "reason with them" bc of what she looked like...and then look

Girl THIS. And THANK YOU. In addition: when you KNOW you can seamless operate in BOTH communities, sometimes best intentions, hurt the minority group.

As a biracial with a white mom, I can absolutely agree with that. I never considered the way I was being received, because my intention was good. Arguing my impact is irresponsible, even I need to listen and learn.

I think this case can be established with the recent Kylie Kelce communication around Dwayne Wade, not speaking to her in the elevator, but he was also surrounded by four white women, one in a wedding dress, who also did not say anything to him when he stepped on the elevator, so why would he feel comfortable speaking to them?….

The beautiful thing about film is that we can all watch the same movie and, because of our different life experiences, find different lessons. Sinners is amazing.
