@thepainnpchenlow: Responding to your chronic pain comments because these need to be addressed #chronicpain #notcrazy #clearlynotexagerrating😌 #chronicpaincommunity #chronicillness
I went to pain management for my back. All they did was injections and burning the nerves. When those didn't work, they said that there wasn't anything else they could do for me. What type of Dr would I see for back issues?

I had a pain management doctor tell me it's all in my head. I responded by telling him, yes it is! That's where our pain signals come from. He never said anything snide or rude again.

I was fired from pain management because my pain wasn’t something they could nerve block. I had been doing great with meds up until that appointment, but that visit was with a new nurse practitioner. She yelled at me and told me anything the old NP told me or had me on was wrong. She informed me they were an interventional pain clinic, and if my pain wasn’t something a nerve block would help, they wouldn’t be seeing me anymore. Actually, she phrased it as ‘if I wasn’t willing to do nerve blocks…’ yeah I wasn’t willing to go through procedures I didn’t need that would permanently damage my nerves. She told me to go home and take Tylenol and Advil, even though those aren’t an option for me anymore due to liver damage and being on blood thinners. That was December 2024. I’m still looking for another pain management clinic that’s not just an interventional’ pain clinic. It’s so hard to find doctors that care.

I cannot say enough how tired I am... they tell me to stop using caffeine...but with or without it I'm still exhausted....they tell me to eat better but a body in pain craves carbs 😔 I don't need someone to tell me how to not be tires I need better pain management 🙄😭

I watched the video about how to write out examples of how my pain is affecting everyday & common activities to show doctor so they better understand how my pain is progressing/worsening. It worked so well today @ my pain management appointment & my Dr said he wished everyone could use the advice 😊. Thank you SO much!!!!

I had a good doctor that finally told me it wasn’t weakness for me to go on pain management. She explained to me when you need pain medicine it’s different than people that abuse pain medicine. She was the first person that believed I had something more going on. It was about seven years later that I was finally diagnosed with all my genetic and autoimmune conditions. She was a wonderful doctor and unfortunately, she retired early.

I have a great pain management specialist who listens to me but I was just diagnosed with dysautonomia. I'm scared, nervous, anxious.

My Dr wants me to get all types of tests ran that have nothing to do with my pain or she will no longer be my doctor. Can they make you do all that just to treat pain? Like respectfully, what does a cologuard test have to do with hip arthritis?

I don't know who I am anymore :
I love that knowledge is the best tool quote. It's similar to something said in Grey's anatomy when one of the neurosurgeons had a baby before that had no brain and didn't want to see an ob gyn. Knowledge is the best tool to counteract fear🥰

I’m so jealous of you (and others). I am undiagnosed. My labs “look fine” and I’m “too young” to have these issues. All that is why multiple providers love to fall back on anxiety. Coworkers and managers don’t understand. I can’t explain it and I don’t have a diagnosis so it seems almost “fake” or “exaggerated” 😢

Your content really makes me feel so much better. After 22 years of chronic illness and pain that I’ve lost so many friends people think I’m a liar. They think I am intoxicated at sometime just because I’m unstable no matter how strong you are in a personality it hurts. So I stay at home a lot.
