Babe people don’t understand how traumatic having no sleep for so long can be, I don’t even know who that person was… so depressed and anxious with a high needs baby. Didn’t like the first year either, love it now. No village the entire time either.

The sleep deprivation to me is the worst part of the ride … period. And I don’t expect to sleep 8 hours of interrupted sleep, that’s long gone. I just need 4-5 hours and I’m good.

I used to go to the gym 7x a week. Eat so clean. Walk 8 miles before work. I was “that girl” — THAT SHIT HAS CHANGED BABE. i dont do that anymore, not because i cant but because my Velcro child is ATTATCHED. it’s HARD. hang in there ma, LOVED THIS

Ppl irl look at me sideways when I speak truthfully. I’ve been in hell for 10mo. The particular type of hell changes, but it’s all hell. When you say that, ppl don’t know how to respond, bc the expectation is you’re supposed to be so happy and fulfilled. And in moments I am, but I can’t say that’s the majority.

100%. Most people glamorize motherhood. But those who do often have an easy baby. My baby was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I have not slept more than 2 hour stretches in almost 11 months now. He has reflux and cmpa too. Unless you have a low sleep needs baby, then you don’t understand. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Idk how people crave newborn stage. It was sooo hard. 😭 The non sleep is killer. Now I have a toddler and I love it so much more.

What a breath of fresh air! My baby had reflux, now 15 months old. She hated the pram hated the car seat never slept in either and people found that crazy. Shes still up all night and I dont even breastfeed. Im out of ideas on how to keep her entertained. Cant put her down to make her meals or clean the house. It is insane.

I was the last of my friends to have a child. I have an eight month old that doesn’t sleep. He hates the car as well and I feel like they straight up lied to me. I truly want to be one and done and I’m selling his shit on marketplace already.

Unfortunately she’ll probabaly sleep more once you stop breastfeeding, my baby girl was the exact same way, breastfed for 11 months and she weaned herself, now she’s about to be 13 months, and sleeps through the night! So it’s all temporary, but I understand what you’re going through! You’re strong, you got this!

What blows my mind is mums having this experience but then intentionally having a 2nd child! My son has been for the most part an “easy baby” and I’ve still found it really hard.

I hated being a mother for sooooo long. I had the same type of baby. No village, just my husband and I. My son is 6 now and it's different. I hope it gets better for you like it did for me. It's easier now for real which I would never have believed before. But it does get better 💜 Hang in there, you are perfectly valid in your feelings!
