@lerato.vundla0: 3 things you need to understand as a wife or even as you prepare for this role should it be something you desire: 1. You serve as unto the Lord, The Bible teaches us to do what we do “as unto the Lord.” (Colossians 3:23) And I’ve realised that learning obedience, humility, patience, and devotion in my walk with God prepared my heart for marriage in ways I didn’t fully understand before. Serving my husband flows from serving Christ first. 2. It is of utmost importance that you are equally yoked. One of the greatest wisdom decisions in my marriage was desiring someone who loves the Lord, honours Him, and submits to Him. There is such ease when you are aligned in faith, values, and convictions. Unity in Christ changes everything 3. The role as a wife should mirror the role of the Holy Spirt This one has humbled me deeply. The Bible calls the Holy Spirit our Helper and Comforter. (John 14:26) And in Genesis, God says, “I will make him a helper suitable for him.” (Genesis 2:18) We are literally given the same description. And I’m still learning… but I’ve realised how much of my role is to be a helper, a comforter, a place of peace, a voice of encouragement. #marriage #mrsv
