This comment is coming from someone obviously who lives in the United States, where they only have 40 days of maternity leave. I think this is just horrid. At the end of the day, no one should be judging anyone else because no one knows another person‘s predicament. Please say hi to your mom. I used to see your family at church all the time. Motherhood is unpaid work. It is work. Unpaid work also includes housework etc and it is the reason why women don't get promoted as quickly as men.

It’s how it should be!! Western society has made it so shameful and worthless. Like why would I pay someone to watch my baby grow? Pfff it’s idiotic and motherhood isn’t about “having it all” having a career+kids means something is getting left out or ignored. Not saying women should stay home. Man can too. 1 parent SHOULD be home while the other works the other job because caring for another human is a job itself. Why make women do it all? Men are less inclined to do it gets left to the woman. That’s why working women are “cranky” and always tired. Those end in divorce for a reason!

in Canada, we get up to 1 year mat leave. now that I live in the USA, we get 1 month, depending in the state you live in. it's nuts!! 🤯
