It’s one thing to memorize it. It’s another to know what each device is supposed to accomplish. THE NUMBERS MASON

this I am a subcontractor working on my EPA certificate I have a few others and will hopefully have my Masters someday for all of my trades our big boss has his Masters and you think you know anything try restoring old systems this guy barely ever has to charge or do any of that and nine times out of 10 He's just checking the board running a few operations and will link the failed operation back to the problem that is how all techs should do it but the time it takes to master those things and understand it visually is a true gift that is not easily achieved

I think this is true to an extent, now its a gross oversimplification, because you absolutely need to understand glides, saturation is one of the most important things you can learn. this is a VERY residential-esk take. but i understand where youre coming from

In my own definition, I would say we are masters of moving energy. We move energy through latent and sensible heat and when you can understand those concepts it becomes very easy.

The refrigeration cycle is the condition of the refrigerant through the system. Not just memorizing the order of the components. Techs are trained to memorize numbers to look for. It’s a rule of thumb depending on scenario. You can have a system work perfectly with a SH of 12 when techs will think it’s a problem. It’s the first things techs check too which I don’t agree with

Understood. Thank you for the information. Knowing why something is needed makes it easier to understand.
