Isn't this a similar concept to Copilot within a corporate environment when it is grounded to your company data? I appreciate it's not a SLM, but at least Copilot gives you the best of both worlds (company grounded + GPAI)?

I agree with your line of reasoning. there is probably a place for SLM. but isn't the bigger issue that the underlying software structure just isn't in place. meaning, one department works mostly in Excel, another one uses the crm l, slack messages everywhere, the shipping department deals in handwritten notes, and so on. I'm sure it's a matter of time, but as long as there is no common ground, any AI will fall short
