Siah Khan (1912-19??) "Iran's Elephant Man" Comment “siah” to receive the full bio and many more photos. Siah Khan Ibn Kashmir Khan (1912/13-1938/40), born Siavash Busheri in Lapui village, Fars Province, Iran, was the third child in a normal family. Growing normally until age 6, he then experienced explosive growth, resembling a 20-year-old by age 9. Suffering from Proteus syndrome (possibly with craniodiaphyseal dysplasia), his skull expanded dramatically, forehead protruding over his eyes, chin jutting forward sharply. Claimed heights were astonishing: "almost 12 feet," 11'3", or 10'6"—arms so long he supposedly wrapped them around his head to eat. These exaggerations would make him history's tallest, surpassing Robert Wadlow. Reality check: 1933 hospital admission revealed 7'2.6" (220 cm), making him the most exaggerated giant ever documented. His impoverished family moved to Shiraz, displaying him on streets for money. In 1920 (age 7), he was "rented" for 6,000 tomans to Khoshorkhan for Tehran exhibition. Dr. Ghorban found him in 1931, providing medical care at Saadi Hospital, where he lived until death from pneumonia/sepsis at 25-28. His skeleton remains displayed in glass at Shiraz Medical School.
