My ‘sister’ 3 yrs older than I. She’s punished me for being born my whole life. I was breadcrumbed here and there but usually she wouldnt let me in at all, not conversations, or anything. Im 51 now and still no relationship. I chased for her acceptance til I was 47. It was after i was ventilated in icu with covid, and then my partner later died, I’d heard nothing from her- I finally gave up trying. My nm said I just dont make the effort with her and I need to try harder. Needless to say i cut off all my ‘family’ after that.

I am cutting contact with my entire family because of this. I have enough saved up now to get out of dodge. My nervous system cannot tolerate being around them at all. It feels like it’s at a tipping point. I had to buy noise cancelling headphones just to be able to live in peace at home. I am the only son and my father is extremely abusive, my three sisters bullied me all my life. I feel bad that I am cutting ties with my mother too but she enabled everyone else to behave the way they did. As messed up as it has been, it was just so normal for me. I only realised how bad it was when I started documenting everything. I have enough.

gosh Lorna, every video you post,i have utmost respect for and consider you extremely gifted in your field...but this one blew me away!.. I have complex ptsd and depression, unfortunately even more layers than you described from childhood to now. recently tried Emdr..therapist out of her depth... I'm 50 this year so not new to this but giving up hope. Can you suggest anything? xx

Urgh! I hate it when the parents say , get over it, move on , while the abuse is ongoing- what they really mean is: I don’t care, I created the monster and the family dynamic and I’m not interested in accountability until it affects me.

you cant have a relationship with anyone involved with a narcissist you gave to cut everyone off otherwise a narcissist will always use them even your own children against you. I had to not only walk away from the narcissist I had to cut contact with everyone all friends and family its the only way to heal

My sister is 10 years older than me and has always bullied and tormented me. For some reason my mother has always allowed that behaviour and silenced me constantly. Telling me how my sister is strong and I am just sensitive and weak.

My parents refused to be there emotionally for me and my twin sister. I became the container, the peacekeeper, the scapegoat. It's 💯 ignorant parenting. No contact with my twin now. Very sad and tragic. 😢

I lost my entire life overnight I lost my sisters , my nieces & nephews due to my narcissistic parents I grieved for a long time & I still go 8 years on & my parents tell me to get over it. Am stronger now but it doesn’t mean I don’t still grieve x

My sis was the golden child, soon as my dad died everything collapsed cos dad’s role benefitted her to be top of the hierarchy. Mum had a stroke and I became mums carer suddenly my sis decided to go to war with me and I cut her off and she cut mum off for no real reason. My sis tried to destroy me but failed and now she’s gone with no family. We ain’t spoken for 3 years don’t think I’ll ever speak to her again.

My husbands family (siblings) do not have anything to do with us and it’s because they hate me. Because I birthed alone during Covid. That’s all it was over. We weren’t great at the time. They’ve never met our kids and they live 10 mins away. Ridiculous 😭

My mother raised us in competition & triangulation for her profit. I understood that when I was 15, refused the role, was bullied even more. Now she's dead, my sister is 50, still refuses to acknowledge what happened, still bully me.. I went no contact. 7 years now.
