@watersafetyhawaii: These two videos are NOT the same. BTW we will never throw your baby in the pool! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Over the years, there have been many copycat programs — but what sets ISR apart is the safety, science, history, and research behind it. Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) follows strict safety protocols to ensure your child’s safety is always the #1 priority. ✔️ Every child completes a registration assessment ✔️ Each student is evaluated by healthcare professionals ✔️ Lessons are customized to ensure developmental readiness and safety All Certified ISR Instructors complete rigorous training and are educated in: • Child development • Health & physiology • Behavioral sciences • Sensory-motor learning When searching for a Certified ISR Instructor, check these two things: 1️⃣ Find them listed on ISR’s national website: www.infantswim.com 2️⃣ Make sure their email ends in @infantswim.com If you’re looking for a Certified ISR Instructor near you, feel free to reach out. I never took swimming lessons. It like came to me naturally. I always used to wear a life jacket, but I went on vacation once and my sister and I saw these mini pillow pets at the store and we wanted them so bad. My mom said she would get them for us if my sister and I jumped into the deep end of the pool without a life jacket. She knew we could swim, I think my sister was nervous, but I wasn’t confident about it. Eventually we both jumped in. Somehow I naturally knew what to do and swam right back to the surface. I remember my mom saying “see? I knew you could do it.” The next time she returned from the store, she had the mini pillow pets! My sister and I were so happy!

the first one is so wrong, im pretty sure the babys reflex of breath holding is related to their face being submerged first, they have to see the water i am assuming?

My dad threw me into the deep end of a hotel pool when I was 4 maybe 5, didn’t know how to swim. I sank to the bottom and he eventually jumped in to get me. Now I’m afraid of water and can’t swim without anxiety. It truly does matter, for anyone that says it doesn’t. It created a fear in me that I never had before.
