But how do you look into eyes that still trust, a tail that still tries to wag, a heart that still wants to love… and decide he doesn’t deserve to live? He was involved in a terrible accident. It left him with deformed jaws — a face that looks different, a smile that isn’t perfect. But he did not choose this. He did not choose the pain. He did not choose the cruelty of people who judge him for surviving. Behind that injured little face is a soul that still hopes. He eats with difficulty. He rests in discomfort. But he still looks at us as if to say, “Please don’t give up on me.” Surgery could change everything. Surgery could help him eat normally, ease his pain, and yes… help him smile again. But right now, we are overwhelmed. Our shelter is carrying so much, and we simply cannot afford this procedure without help. Euthanasia is being suggested because it’s “easier.” Because it’s “cheaper.” Because some people think his life isn’t worth the cost. But we believe he deserves a chance.
