I think people forget that teen mom was pretty horrific too 😬 literal physical and verbal abuse and drug abuse happened ON CAMERA🫣 and production would do nothing to stop it!! I feel like tlc is trying to put a “prettier” lens on it by subtly highlighting the “humor” (if you can even call it that🥴) at times, whereas teen mom played it more realistically by showing the grittiness and sadness of being a teen parent

Ethical or not, it’s the reality of so many teens. It should be shown. It would be watched and it should open up conversations between parents and teens. Not just conversations about pregnancy, but conversations about healthy relationships too. It should make people uncomfortable 🤷🏻♀️
