@morgan.on.money: Money lessons I learned growing up ✨💰 Before people come for me about scholarship money not being available to everyone… I went to college in 2007. Yes school was a lot cheaper then, but scholarship money exists everywhere. I mean everywhere. I got a scholarship from my orthodontist. I got a scholarship from my high school. I also ended up being a @rodeohouston scholarship recipient which greatly decreased the cost of my attendance. I later got some small scholarships while in undergrad. Applying matters. I understand that having the traditional college experience is becoming a luxury but funding exists in unexpected places. We can’t change the system but we can change how we interact with it. Note: I am not a CPA. Consult a qualified accountant. Deducting your state sales tax only works if you’re doing an itemized deduction, which in many cases the itemized sales tax would not exceed the standard deduction, but this is not tax advice.

it’s all about balancing. You can save a lot and enjoy when you turn 70. Is it worth it? Absolutely not. Should you save enough to have comfortable retirement? Indeed. So if you want to drive a car which you really enjoy, you probably can buy it in your 40s instead of 70s. If you want to have less financial stress in your retirement, move overseas. They are so many great countries to retire with 1 million dollars. In the US even 3 million dollars won’t make you financially stress free.
