@earthlinghouse: Four Different Fruits… One Tree This is my multi-grafted fruit tree 🌳 Last year, I grafted pear and apple onto a pollarded hawthorn tree. This year, I’m adding quince and medlar — meaning this single tree will soon carry four different fruits. It sounds rare and complicated… but it’s actually not. Successful fruit tree grafting is all about plant relationships. Hawthorn, apple, pear, and quince all belong to the same genus group within the Rosaceae family, which is why the grafts are compatible and can grow together on one root system. Multi-grafting is a brilliant way to increase diversity, maximise small spaces, and create something truly unique. If you want to learn how, check out my other videos where I explain how to graft fruit trees step by step 🌱 #MultiGraftedTree #FruitTreeGrafting #AppleTree #PearTree #QuinceTree #Medlar #Hawthorn #OrchardLife #Permaculture #GrowYourOwnFruit #EarthlingPlants

Apple is sadly not long term compatible. So it won't be able to grow over long durations from what I did find. However medlar and quince should work fine :) Pear is possible but not a good fit.

have you done this with success before, do all fruits stay pure fruits or hybrid versions of the original fruit. might sound like a silly question, pardon my ignorance sir. I know little to nothing about orchard fruits.

I have two 25ft pear trees (old+out of control) would it be possible to cut out 10ft of trunk then graft the top of the tree to the remaining stump? so i get a shorter fruit tree thats more manageable. hope that makes sense.
