Im so torn. My job is to help teachers utilize technology in the classroom, but I can absolutely see the benefit of analog. The problem is, so many students can easily navigate short form video, but have no idea how to find a file on their Chromebooks. They will absolutely need technology skills when they leave schools, but idk the best way to teach them.

as a Zillennials, I honestly did much better once I got to college and the professor were using the textbook, canned PowerPoints. oh, and actually following the textbooks cover to cover, in order. turns out they make a lot more sense if you read the stacking content in order

There is something about writing that makes me remember things better. If I write something on the calendar, I often don't even check it as the act of writing ingrained it in my head. Not sure if that works for anyone else.

Fully went away from all student tech. We now do writing folders, class notebooks, and unit packets. Love it!

It’s wild bc I’m a millennial finishing my bachelor’s degree. I was recently accused of using AI for essay writing because I used one too many big words. If I did not have hand written notes, essay structure, or short form answers to the provided prompts.. let’s just say I would’ve had a steeper hill to climb up when it came to convincing my professor that I do in fact know what I’m talking about. If it wasn’t for the five paragraph essay analog days I went through idk how I would’ve shown my professor my draft writing process. You’re doing great!!

Yes!! My child’s HS is cracking down (no cell phones & locking websites accessibility) but they aren’t quite there yet - kids are still accessing thru the laptops. I’m glad you are seeing some evidence based success!

i (and my 22 yo feels the same as me, which is not always the case) would love for all schools to move to paper and pencil and no electronics (unless needed for someone who has a challenge/medical need) during lectures.
