There’s no gears in there, it’s a screw. Take the handle off and pull it apart and grease the screw. The one you put on there does have gears though.

$100 for an electric one on Amazon. BEFORE you go saying they don't work, I have had one for 3 years. I never weather proofed it and my camper is 7k pounds.

yeah, you still need blocks for that jack. If you have any weight on the trailer or soft ground it is just going to sink in like the other one does
