@leahshomestead: Drying off a milk cow isn’t something you want to rush. Over the past month we slowly decreased dairy feed and reduced milking. The last four days we milked once a day, then skipped a day completely. Today we milked her out one last time and infused a syringe of an all-natural essential oil product to help the drying-off process. If the udder doesn’t shut down properly, mastitis can become a risk — so managing this transition carefully matters.
