@nepalinreel: Sulabh Kharel, the candidate from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) in Rupandehi Constituency No. 2, has claimed that he was attacked by an unidentified group just a day before the election. In a social media post on Wednesday night, Kharel stated that individuals entered the hotel where he was staying in Butwal and severely beat members of his secretariat. He wrote that those involved in the incident have been identified and that police have begun their investigation. Ending his post on a strong political note, he added: “Tomorrow’s vote count will answer everyone.” However, the police version differs slightly from the candidate’s claim. According to SP Janak Shahi, Chief of the District Police Office, Rupandehi, Kharel himself was not physically attacked. Police stated that a quarrel broke out at the hotel, leaving three individuals from Kharel’s side injured. Authorities have identified those allegedly involved and said they will soon be brought under legal action.
