Long read but heres my suspicion (2 parts).  1. Was she truly feeling alone and losing the spark, or did the relationship just naturally enter that "not so new anymore" feeling? Many think their relationship is lacking in emotion and love, but really its their need for a "thrill". Her presence of guilt and feeling like a fraud and even contemplating telling him, suggests that there wasn't lack of emotion, love or care. If she still cared for him and cheating provoked this level of remorse, this may suggest he was indeed showing his care for her all along. Otherwise she'd not really care about cheating, she'd not even reach out for advice. No one wouldn't even know this information, even anonymously. So, rather just a lack of phyiscal attraction/connection. I think a face that was much prettier than her bf just came along, knew she could get with it, gave her a sense of still being desirable to other people, attractive people at that, and jumped on it. Im also willing to bet, that this guy didnt really say or do anything all that amazing that was so called missing in the relationship, I'd probably include the sx too. Its just her high phyiscal attraction for him amplified general validating gesures and what she thought was missing in the relationship. Think of along the lines of the halo effect, for a lack of a better term. Even listen to what she said about him. He was flirty and funny. Is that it? That alone is not enough to cheat. She found him hot, that was the reason. Next she says "Something my bf hasnt done in months". Months? Thats not THAT long. She didnt even give a change to rekindle. If so, she'd have mentioned this. She'd have mentioned her attempts to reconnect, and if he refused, this would give some justification. There was no details oj what exactly the bf was failing on. On brief generic terms. Im almost certain this affair was purely phyiscal attraction based. Meaning it was likely gonna happen regardless. I dont think she even loves her bf that much. But rather empathetic instead.

Tricky one. You start of with friends with someone and that leads to more. There is nothing wrong with that. It’s life. The key is before you let it go to far you end things with the person you are with. Things don’t always work out and you find someone else. That’s life. But you just need to do things right.

Don’t tell him….telling him won’t fix your needs or your relationship. You need to come to terms with what u did and sit your partner down and try and fix your relationship. If he can’t give you what this other guy gave you then break up as u likely to look for that excitement again! Telling won’t fix anything it will just make things worse….use this as a wake up call not as a way to destroy the person you love….we all make mistakes and it’s not like you are in love with someone else!! It’s just a shag!

Never ever will I cheat. If your not happy move on because you’ll break his heart. Iv been there and it took me 1 year, to get over my partner of 9 years with a child. I lost everything and had to rebuild my life, it’s been such a struggle I had mental health issues turned to drink. Shit like this can cause suicide. Once a cheat always a cheat. I even attempted.
