In addition to lacking durability, the superfine wools are usually extremely lightweight and ripple/pull very easily which can look bad especially as you move around and aren’t posing stock still to make it hang perfectly. Heavier cloth that drapes better and holds the shape built into it often ends up looking better.

What fabric weight range would you recommend for bigger guys? I recently made a VBC Super 110 at 270g for a client and the trousers started wearing out fairly quickly. Do you have any recommendations for a good year round fabric weight that holds up better while still keeping the cost low? His budget is under $2K.
