@missy23232: Most interviews don’t fall apart because of experience. They fall apart because of preparation. The more you practice your answers out loud, the more confident, clear and grounded you'll sound in the room. #creatorsearchinsights #leadership #careeradvice #interviewtips #LearnItOnTikTok

Just interviewed for a management position and did exactly this. “I’m a collaborative leader who sees the talents of each contributor on the team, ensures they feel valued, and works to place them in the best position to achieve our organization’s goals.

I'm a servant leader. I prioritize the growth, well-being, and empowerment of my team. My job as their leader is to support them and remove the obstacles in their way.

OP Sales & Leadership :
I wouldn’t describe my leadership as one fixed style, I’d describe it as situational and adaptive. My approach changes based on the individual and, more importantly, their development stage against a specific task or objective. I flex between direction and support depending on what will help them perform and grow most effectively in that moment. What stays constant is my focus on aligning intrinsic motivators with business objectives, so there is a clear connection between organisational success and personal progression. I also believe capability is best built in context, which is why I stay close to the work and lead from the front when needed, using real situations to accelerate development and reduce regression.

I notice my Leadership style tends fall into a mentoring style. I love leading people and helping my team reach their achieve goals with confidence and consistency . That way one day they will lead their own team.

The world needs more Situational Leadership where leaders are able to adjust their style based on the maturity, skill level, and motivation of their team members AND the dynamic of the work environment. Not all environments remain static, they change with team member turnover, emergencies, innovation demands, and times of org growth or transition.

I just had this question and I said that I am a collaborative manager that truly wants input from her team. You are my eyes and ears and my role is to ensure your voice is heard and elevated to the necessary departments that can effectively help us make change that is needed. I also believe in regular 1x1’s so that I can know what motivates my teams and how they wish to be communicated as individuals.

How do you balance this answer while sounding real? I’m a manager of 16 years and it feels disingenuous to answer a question like that - I would never speak like that day to day but the message you are conveying is accurate. I want to be me, not a corporate speak version of me

Great response! So is a transformational leader, more powerful than a collaborative leader?
