My kid’s principal asked me not to push the issue with the kid bullying my kid because “his parents are going through a divorce.” Like, I’m sorry to hear that, but that’s not my kid’s problem, and my kid deserves to feel safe at school.

A police report against a minor should automatically trigger a home visit. Shes obviously seeing or experiencing that behavior at home and she probably needs an advocate too. You did the right thing!

Always skip the school administration & go right to the police. Schools cover this up to save face. I’ve had to deal with this many times.

I’ve learned from having a child who’s bullied is that the school always protects the bully. They scream about how mental health matters but only the bullies MH matters at the end of the day and never the victim. I’m glad you took it to this level.
