please look into it more. I lost both parents 4 months apart and a will would have done absolutely nothing for me, but my parents put everything in a trust and it made it so much easier for me.

Hi friend, I work at an estate planning firm and here are a few things I always make sure clients know. 1st, in regards to your trust, 1. In the event of your children becoming disabled and receiving SSI/SSDI, the trust should have a section that says their portion will go into a Supplemental needs trust (therefore they can still receive their benefits), you should as do the same thing in your will 2. When setting up a trust and inheritance for your children, incrementally giving them their inheritance (1/3 at 25, 1/3 at 30, 1/3 at 35) helps to negate any issues that may come along with FAFSA or college applications. 3.

This is great!! Be sure to set up a trust. Wills go through probate and are expensive. Better to spend the money on the front end and not have to wait literal years while the courts review your will and distribution of assets.

My husband died at 34, this is so worthwhile, so important. I can’t stress enough how important this is. Don’t put it off, my husband was healthy, athletic, and young- he’s no exception and neither are we. It’s not fun to think about but it’s even less fun when your family has to scramble while grieving 💕 so do it for them.
