She’s talking about the kids who have parents that don’t give a shit. A kid may have ADHD or Autism- but that students IEP is NOT an excuse for the student to be violent. Not to mention the parents who seek them out bc they are just shitty parents.

I cry every time I leave my daughters IEP meetings, not because I feel defeated, but because she has the most amazing team of educators rooting for her every day. The beautiful things they say about my girl fill my heart with so much gratitude.

I couldn’t imagine as a blind person how I would’ve felt if everybody acted like my IEP meetings were a waste of their time. Like I wasn’t worth the trouble.

My son is five and if his teacher spoke like this I would be devastated. Writing his IEP WITH his teacher and his other team members was and is difficult but so very important.
